MusicianDatabase.Com, LLC Launches Free Internet Radio for Original Artists
March 3, 2011 – St. Louis, Missouri
Kevin and Kirk Hilzinger, co-partners in one of the fastest growing community portals for musicians at MusicianDatabase.Com, today announced the official launch of KMDB Internet Radio. KMDB Radio provides multiple channels of all original music, exclusively fromMusicianDatabase.Com members. “For us, it’s all about the music and the people that make music happen,” says Kevin Hilzinger, co-partner and Project Lead at MusicianDatabase.Com, LLC. “We hope that KMDB Radio will help our member songwriters, vocalists, musicians and bands get their music to more people, and we want to provide a free online source for original music for music lovers everywhere.”
Like MusicianDatabase.Com, KMDB Radio is a completely free resource for both members and listeners. Music lovers can tune in to any of the five KMDB channels any time, 24/7/365, absolutely free. Once an artist creates a free profile at MusicianDatabase.Com, they are automatically eligible to submit their original music to KMDB Radio via easy to use Web-based tools. “MusicianDatabase.Com and KMDB Radio are all about creating more exposure for our members so they can touch more lives with their gift of music,” says Kevin. “You can’t put a price tag on that.”
KMDB Radio launches with five channels of original music: Country, Rock/Classic Rock, Hard Rock & Alternative, Easy Listening & Folk, and KMDB “The Mix”, a randomization of all the music available from KMDB Radio. “As our membership grows and word gets out that we’re streaming music for our members absolutely free, we expect to add more channels as our library of all original music grows,” says Kirk Hilzinger, co-partner and technical advisor at MusicianDatabase.Com, LLC.
Listeners can tune in to KMDB Internet Radio two ways. A custom KMDB Radio Web Player, built with Silverlight technology from Microsoft, is available from the Web site at www.MusicianDatabase.com. Fans that want more information about the music they’re listening to can visit the site and download the KMDB Radio Windows Player, a free app for Microsoft Windows that installs in seconds, and provides information about the currently playing artist with a direct link to MusicianDatabase.Com for detailed artist information including availability and upcoming event information. “We wanted to give listeners multiple ways to access our member’s music right out of the box, but we’re not stopping there,” says Kirk. “We’re going to continue to improve the Web and Windows players, and we plan to release mobile players for Windows Phone, iPhone/iPad/iPod and Android based devices in the not too distant future.”
KMDB Internet Radio also provides another targeted channel for advertisers looking to reach music lovers, musicians and music industry related professionals such as music instructors, sound and lighting engineers, photographers, videographers, and venues that cater to musicians and live performances. Advertisers can target music lovers with a KMDB specific audio marketing campaign, or create a combo campaign with KMDBaudio marketing coordinated with traditional banner advertising at MusicianDatabase.Com. “Advertisers like options and a targeted audience, and that’s what we’re providing at MusicianDatabase.Com and KMDB Radio,” says Kevin. “Advertisers can focus on our KMDB listeners with a commercial on one or all of the KMDB channels, or they can tie in to our MusicianDatabase.Com audience for double exposure, or vice versa.”
MusicianDatabase.Com has released several revisions, upgrades and new features since the inaugural launch of the site in January 2009, and according to the Hilzinger’s, they’re not done yet. “We understand that the Web is a dynamic place, and if we’re going to have a positive effect for our members we have to stay ahead of the curve and continue to improve the community we’ve built,” says Kevin. “We’ve got a solid foundation, and the feedback from our members and fans has been extremely positive. KMDB is the next big step in the realization of our dream, but still one of the first. We’ve got a lot more on the way,” says Kirk.
